Research Students Forum / Conferences

Since its inception, a main objectives of City Center has been to promote research students and support their academic progress. The research students forum is one activity created to serve that purpose, where students can meet fellow scholars, share their work and receive constructive feedback.

The IITM & TAU Students' Forum brings together students from IITM and TAU whose research is linked to cities and urbanism. The students' forum aims to generate a diverse discussion among students from India and Israel under the main theme of cities.

About City Center Research Students Forum

 

City Center invites research students from all departments whom research is related to cities and urbanism to join the Research Students Forum. The Forum is City Center's initiative. City Center is a TAU research center for cities and urbanism, founded and headed by Prof. Juval Portugali. City Center’s activities include international conferences and workshops, guest workshops and other events.

 

The forum aims to create an academic and social connection between students from different departments of TAU and other universities in Israel and abroad, for the purpose of stimulating and supporting urban oriented research. The forum will gather several times in each academic year and hold lectures and discussion around a specific themes. Apart from the research students, the audience will include faculty members and senior researchers. 

 

We seek to constitute an interdisciplinary collaboration between research students and to promote research students via exposure to new methodologies, networks and feedback. All TAU Master's degree students and PhD students are invited to join the Research Students’ Forum. Invitation is also open for post-doctoral students.

The Research Students' Forum will gather every academic year in the format of short lectures and discussions on issues dealing with cities and urbanism, where senior faculty members will also be  listening and commenting. We aspire to a platform for discussion and constructive criticism towards specific works and studies, and more.

 

Who is the forum for?

Master and PhD students, and Post-doctorals at Tel Aviv University who are engaged in research that deals directly or indirectly with cities and urbanism.
