The relationship between TAU and IIT Madras has grown considerably in recent years and has been supported by joint delegations and initiatives between faculty members of both institutions. Building on these existing connections, both sides see great potential benefit in expanding their relationship into a broad-based partnership which would include a range of academic collaborations across different fields. Considering the strengths each institution has in academic research, innovation, and teaching, the two sides propose to develop their partnership in a strategic manner over the next few years, with the following key goals:

  1. Creation of strong linkages between academic faculty of each institution leading to high-quality joint research publications and conference papers.

  2. Regular exchange of research students between both institutions, in particular through joint PhD programs.

  3. Raising of external funding to support cutting-edge research in various fields.
