Every academic year, City Center is involved with hosting physical or virtual conferences and roundtables on various topics relevant to cities and urbanism research.
City Center offers the academic community individual lectures and two lecture series: The series on Comparative Urbanism: the local dimensions of cities, and the series on Big Data, AI and Urban Future.
City Center is responsible of the creation of academic workshops for established researchers and research students alike, in Tel Aviv University or in collaboration with other academic institutions worldwide.
Throughout the academic years, City Center holds seminars and courses on various issues related to cities and urbanism.
Better connections and collaborations between academy and other sectors are key objectives of City Center. This section contains City Center's collaborations with the public, private and civil sectors, as well as with the immediate community around the Tel Aviv University campus.
City Center aims to promote research students and support their academic progress. The research students forum is one activity created to serve that purpose, where students can meet fellow scholars, share their work and receive constructive feedback.
The Research Center for Comparative Urbanism (RCCU) is a collaboration between City Center and the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras, India (IITM). This cooperation concentrated on the fields of urbanism, cities, city planning and design, and the encouragement of joint research projects between researchers from TAU and IITM.
City Center supports excellent research students whose academic work in linked directly or indirectly to cities and urbanism. The 2022-2023 academic year research students' excellence prize competition aims to encourage extended research on cities and urbanism among Tel Aviv University's future scholars.
TAU City Center invited students from across the globe to share their thoughts and impressions on how their cities have been and yet are affected by Covid-19.
